All employees are trained in HIPAA awareness, privacy and security through convenient online courses. Upon completion, they are tested and eligible for individual certifications that attest to their training.
Perhaps even more important, implementation of the Compliance Plan and staff training allow the organization itself to be certified as HIPAA Compliant. Organizational Certification minimizes the prospect for costly enforcement audits, penalties, damage to reputation and other negative consequences by sharply reducing the chance that unauthorized disclosures occur.
